Terri L. Jenkins

Terri Jenkins taught in the public schools in Richmond County - Augusta, GA - for thirteen years and served as an Instructional Technology Specialist with the district for two additional years. With a masters degree in Administration and Supervision and certification in the Communicative Arts, Middle Grades, Physical Education, and Gifted Education, her expertise in teaching is well documented. She brings with her a love of teaching and a range of experiences at every level of education, from kindergarten to senior high school. In 1987, Terri was a teacher at the first WFSG school, a middle school in Augusta when Carlene Murphy was Director of Staff Development. Terri experienced the WFSG process in its earliest developmental stages. During that same time, Bruce Joyce and Beverly Showers, consultants to the district, invited her to be a member of the Models of Teaching Cadre, a group of teacher leaders responsible for training other faculties in Augusta. In 1990 she was chosen as a finalist for Richmond County Teacher of the year.

Terri began serving districts as an educational consultant in 1989. She is currently an associate of Carlene Murphy's and collaborates with her in the training and support of schools that choose the WFSG approach to whole school improvement. In the early 1990s, she worked with Carlene Murphy in the initiation and support of WFSGs in several Georgia districts. Today she continues to collaborate with Murphy in training and supporting faculties that choose to implement WFSGs. She has worked with ATLAS Communities schools in Georgia, Washington, and New York that are implementing WFSG. Currently she is working with schools that are members of the High Schools That Work network that choose WFSGs as the core of its professional development system.
